In the near future, proof of an afterlife for a select few creates a corrupt dystopia. In this 30 min short film set in 2060 AD, the Resistance fights against a devastating transformation and may be trapped in the Jacobs Institute’s deadly cat and mouse game. 2050 AD – “Family” – When the Jacobs Institute announces that only a small fraction of mankind is eligible for Ascension, a young Ascendant mother must decided between staying with her biomass wife and child or leaving to be with her own kind. This was the first short film produced and had it’s premiere (as well as was a finalist) at the TCL Theater in Hollywood as part of the Hollyshorts Film Festival. This 30 minute sci-fi short film serves as a prequel to ‘The Ascendants Anthology’ series as well as a general entry into the mythology of The Ascendants saga. ‘Horizon’ follows Ben, a prescription drug addict and an unwitting experiment of ‘The Jacobs Institute,’ as he returns home following the death of his father and reunites with the girl he left behind.
